Lexan is better than regular hurricane glass because after the impact you can still see though it. I know that some removable shutters are made of lexan but they have to be put up and taken down.
Most generators people buy are construction site quality, which is what I used to own. I bought a 4000 watt generator at Home depot that has a quieter muffler (wont attract attention from thieves), Power regulator (won’t blow up my computer or surge protectors), Electric as well as pull start, and Idle control (really important. This makes it use a lot less gas).
